FAQ's
What is Auto-Trade Account?
An Auto-Trade account is one that automatically executes the trading signals for your account.
How do I make my account an Auto-Trade account?
You fill out a Letter of Direction (LOD) form with our Introducing Broker. This gives them limited power of attorney to execute the trading signals on your behalf.
Does signing an LOD give the broker the ability to trade whatever they want?
No. The LOD will specifically name the trading system you want our Introducing Broker to follow for you. Those will be the only trades they have the authority to execute for you.
Can I terminate my LOD at any time?
Yes. You can start and stop your Auto-Trade account anytime you choose.
How do I open an Auto-Trade account?
Contact our Introducing Broker, Capital Trading Group. Link: Click here to get started.
Or type in this url: https://info.capitaltradinggroup.com/en/theotrade
Who is the Capital Trading Group?
Capital Trading Group (CTG) is the Introducing Broker to StoneX. The owners have over 30 years in the industry. They will automatically execute the orders for your account. CTG works in close contact with TheoTrade and STX Options.
What is my special Commission rate for an Auto-Trade account?
Small Portfolio accounts: $0.50 per side, per contract (plus clearing, exchange, and NFA fees.) Big Portfolio accounts: $1.25 per side, per contract (plus clearing, exchange, and NFA fees.)
How do I follow my Auto-Trade account?
You’ll receive an email confirmation from CTG when a trade is executed. You’ll receive a statement from your StoneX account the following day. You’ll have access to view your account in real-time via the StoneX portal 24/7.
Can I use an IRA Account to Auto-Trade?
Yes, but understand that margin requirements are slightly higher for IRA accounts. Also, you will need to fund your account using a 3rd party fiduciary. If you would like to open an IRA account for Auto-Trading, please contact CTG directly at 800-238-2610 or info@CTGtrading.com
Can I open an Auto-Trade Account if I am a Canadian or Australian Citizen?
Yes. CTG has a special relationship with a brokerage that will accept new accounts from Canada and Australia, and CTG will be able to Auto-Trade the account for you. Please contact CTG directly at 800-238-2610 or info@CTGtrading.com to open this type of account.
Does my Auto-Trade account have to be separate from other accounts?
Yes, you will need a separate account for Auto-Trade. You can not take your own trades in an auto-traded account.
What kind of account can I Auto-Trade in?
Our Introducing Broker, Capital Trading Group, can open any account type.
Does STX Options have access to my Auto-Trading account?
No. We have no access to your account. The broker will open and close all trades in the account based on our direction.
What is the recommended number of units for the Ultima Portfolio Allocation?
For the small portfolio we recommend 1 unit per $5,000 and for the big portfolio we recommend 1 unit per $50,000.
How do I cancel my subscription?
Each portfolio is sold on an annual basis. You can cancel anytime and not be renewed for a subsequent year, but there are no prorated refunds. Please email support@stxoptions.com to put in your cancellation request.
Is my capital protected from loss?
No. All trades come with some level of risk. With an 80% to 90% success rate, we expect to have 2 losing months for every 12 month period. Losses will happen and we feel that the consistent success of our strategies will more than make up for any losses that we incur.
How risky are your strategies?
Options are leveraged investments and involve a higher degree of risk than most conventional investments (otherwise, the high returns that we have enjoyed would not be possible). However, since all of our strategies involve being both long and short options concurrently or include hedges, we have some protection against the market moving in either direction.
